Rion: hotaru

Rion is the work of Ian Hawgood and Ryo Nakata. They have been friends for a number of years now, with both Ryo and Ian releasing their earliest releases around the same time on the same labels. Recorded, mixed, evolved and devolved between 2008 to 2011, the project has taken enormous twists and turns, to find its natural self in the original organic recordings between Ian and Ryo. Ryo plays guitar, with Ian on mellotron, rhodes, guitar, double bass, tape loops, vibraphone and field recording, plus special guests Katherine Morrice on flute and Miko on vocals.
