Ludvig Cimbrelius - here

Ludvig Cimbrelius is a Swedish musician who for over a decade has been producing his wonderful music, ranging from ambient and modern classical to deep electronic and minimal dub techno, under his own name and many different aliases such as Eternell, Purl, Illuvia and others. His music has been released on many labels, including Silent Season, Dewtone Recordings, Archives, A Strangely Isolated Place, Sound In Silence, Databloem, Stereoscenic Records and many others, as well as his own labels Eternell and LILA लीला. Here is his fourth release on the label after the highly acclaimed Love Letters From The Sky in 2022 and two albums under his Eternell project, Still Light in 2018 and Imagined Distances in 2020. Below is what Ludvig had to share about the backstory of making this album:

“As those who follow my musical journey know, the works I release under my given name have primarily danced between the piano centric- and the vocal ambient spheres. Those two worlds were both fully expressed and fully kept apart on the debut, Dreaming The Night Sky (2018). While most releases after this have lived solely in one of the worlds, Love Letters From The Sky (2022) began to bridge them, and Here furthers and, in some sense, completes the bridge. For anyone interested, I'll share a condensed version of the story of how it came to be. After Intimacy (2019), I set out to record a continuation to the haunting acoustic vocal realm I had uncovered on that album. It seemed to have touched people more deeply than anything I had created prior; the feedback I got was on a different level. Soon after its release I began taking down the vision of a successor that I named Foreverness (the title probably gives you some sense of the inner vision that it wanted to reflect), utilizing the same four primary sound sources: vocals, acoustic piano, electric guitar and field recordings. The music was burning in my heart and soul, and the recordings were vibrating with passion and a clearer light than ever before. At the height of the recording process I embarked on a voyage across North America, during which I also played some of the new songs live. Back in the studio again afterwards, I tried to finish the album, but found that the more I tried, the more it stayed elusive - out of reach. I kept coming back to it again from new vantage points, thinking that "now I have finally found the right path", just to soon find myself even more lost. As the seasons turned to years, I kept working on it, kept creating, but never reached that final resolution that is needed for a work to be called 'done'.In the spring of 2024, from a new home (and, in many ways, a new life), I once again took up my work, and this time I not only finished a fully realized vision of the album I had set out to create all those years ago - I also uncovered a sort of parallel universe, sprung out of the same creative river, yet expressed in quite a different way. Naturally, at this point I had enough versions to fill at least 10 albums, but after spending a couple of months sorting through and refining them, this second picture also became clear. In some ways, the two albums are like windows into each other. In other ways they are like diverging paths, beginning in the same forest, but leading out of it in different directions. Foreverness will be released by my own record label LILA लीला next year.
