Sweeny - corporeal

For over twenty years Jason Sweeney, based on Kaurna Country in South Australia, has been composing and recording either solo under his own name, in various electronic bands (Other People’s Children, Pretty Boy Crossover) and under the composer alias of Panoptique Electrical. "Corporeal", Sweeney’s fifth full-length album under his own name, is an album about personal ghosts. It consists of 18 tracks, carefully mastered by George Mastrokostas (Absent Without Leave), with a total duration of 58 minutes. For this album Sweeney started working with paranormal audio investigation tools such as a Spirit Box, the GhostTube apps, electronic voice phenomena and other immersive techniques in order to generate sound and lyrics. Using all of this raw paranormal material he then set about composing tracks using various electronic instruments such as vinyl and turntables, a bass guitar, old microphones, a VoiceBox pedal, a 10 track mixing desk with in-built effects, drum machines, a Nord synth, then he put it all into a SP404A Roland sampler and pressed record.
