Test Card - rediffusion

Test Card is the solo project of Lee Nicholson, based in Vancouver and with "Rediffusion" Lee has created a wonderful collection of ten evocative tracks with a total duration of about 45 minutes. Using layers of melodic guitars, deep bass, hypnotic synthesizers, glitchy electronics, vintage drum machine samples and odd field recordings, Test Card creates an album full of warm textures and ethereal atmospheres, blending perfectly elements of dreamy ambient, minimal post-rock and lo-fi electronica. The finishing touch on the sound of Rediffusion was applied by the mastering of George Mastrokostas (aka Absent Without Leave), adding a great depth to its nostalgic soundscapes. A lovely release highly recommended for devotees of Labradford, 1 Mile North, The Durutti Column and Helios.
