Poppy Nogood is an American composer and violinist who started learning classical violin from the age of three and much more interested in understanding how the violin can be used in his own unique way rather than for technical virtuosity. He’s also obsessed with Romantic music and the idea of conveying a narrative of individual struggle through music, and is looking for a sound that is both tragic and beautiful. Influenced by the neo-romantic emotional minimalism of such artists as Max Richter, Bing & Ruth, Terry Riley and Steve Reich, Poppy offers 4 alternative ambient electro-acoustic mood paintings ranging arround 10 minutes each. All put together with the use of violin, piano, electric guitar, bass guitar, vibraphone, korg dw-8000, korg volca bass//keys//beats, suspended cymbal, tambourine, aluminum can, voice and laptop.
